|Asmund, EP29; The Wind at Sea|
Asmund makes his first appearance is Episode 29 of Season 2, when Dmitri and Nekoette~Tan, who were revealed in the same episode to have stowed away on Aphmau's exploration ship, wander off into the tribe's island in search of adventure.
He accuses them immediately of being monsters known as 'imps', weapon drawn as well as the small posse of tribe members accompanying him. Aphmau proceeds to run over to protect the children, Laurance right on her heels and Asmund asks her to vouch for the children's humanity. She obliges and Asmund apologizes for assuming that they were monsters and that he didn't know their parents were with them.
Aphmau quickly explains that the children aren't hers or Laurance's and that they are from another region on the mainland and had been beached on the island shore during a storm. Asmund tells her to talk to him in the village of Ishmel and after a very fleeting mini-tour of the village, he brings Aphmau into this home. His wife, Helen, then offers to give Aphmau some winter clothes. As Helen fetches the clothing, the two leaders sit by the fireplace as Asmund explains the situation to Aphmau of how her ship was likely cursed at sea and that she will not be able to navigate her way back whatsoever, for she will only end up right back at the island.
When asked how they might navigate their way home, Asmund replies that their tribe has been long plagued by the tyranny of a mysterious figure known as "The Demon Warlock" who turns lost travelers into creatures called imps that can take the form of anyone whom they have seen and disguise themselves as humans to harm the tribe, as well as how the warlock doesn't allow anyone to leave the island. He then concludes that in order for Aphmau and her friends to get home, they would need to somehow contact The Demon Warlock and gain his consent to leave.
They reconvene later at the boat, this time with Katelyn, Aaron and Laurance to discuss the plan. After telling the travelers that the Warlock only confronts those who are wandering the island on their own, he departs back to his village.
- The name Asmund is a Scandinavian name. In Scandinavian the meaning of the name Asmund is "God is the protector".
- Asmund also sounds like Esmund, the name of one of the Divine Warriors. Upon meeting him, Aphmau mutters that his name sounds familiar. This could be hinting to Aphmau being Irene.
