Aphmau: [humming]

Aphmau: Bless you, Zane!
Zane: I'm not sneezing, I'm trying to get your attention! Pay attention to me, I NEED attention!
Aphmau: [giggles] You're more whiny than usual today. What's the matter? Cat got your tongue?
Zane: Hey! [growls]
Aphmau: Zane, if you don't like the cat ears, then you can take them off! It's not required. I'm only ignoring you because this is the third time today you've complained about it.
Zane: But then, I'll be the only one without them! But I hate them so much! If I don't wear them, then the customers are all:
Zane: [whiny voice] "Why aren't you even wearing cat ears like everyone else?" [more whining]
Aphmau: I.. think you need a nap Zane.
Zane: I don't need a nap, I JUST WANT YOUR ATTENTION!
[Gene approaches]
Gene: Jeez, just call her "senpai" and get it over with.
Zane: Wh-What are you doing here?!
Gene: Um.. [chuckles] I work here? Now are you gonna put up the new merch, or should a real cat step in to do it?
Zane: [laughs] You just called yourself a cat, I-
[Aphmau goes to Gene]
Zane: H-HEY, what are you doing?!
[Aphmau starts to pet Gene]
Gene: [adorable meowing]
Aphmau: Aww, good Gene! That's a good kitty! Oh so cute! Yes you are!
Gene: [more purring]
Zane: A-Aphmau.. You're giving Gene attention?
Aphmau: Of course, he is my best friend after all!
Zane: SINCE WHEN!?
Aphmau: Since meow!
Zane: This...This can't be happening! I thought.. I was your best friend!
[Zane starts crying, until the scene fades and he wakes up in the maid cafe]
Gene: Wow. Falling asleep on the job. Wake up! Those shirts aren't gonna stock themselves, we're about to open!
Zane: [shrill meow] I HATE YOU SO MUCH! STAY AWAY FROM MY BEST FRIEND!
Gene: Uh... Okay then, nice to see you getting into your role as a cat! I'm gonna go over here and do my job.
Zane: [frustrated meowing] I hate him so much.. acting like he can just walk in and.. [mumbling]
Aphmau: [sighs] Zane really isn't a morning person, is he?
Aphmau: Guy, I can't thank you enough for getting us all set up..!
Guy: Oh honey please, all I did was introduce you to my friend! You did everything else yourself!
Guy: By the way, this is an adorable little set up! I'm kinda jealous. Our shop on Love Love Paradise wasn't as cute!
Aphmau: Well..that's what we were going for..! [giggles]
Guy: Well, where is it?
Aphmau: Where is what?
Guy: The t-shirt, duh! I want to see the design!
Aphmau: [giggles] I'm glad you asked, because we got the cutest model this side of town to model it.
Aphmau: Oh Kawaii~Chaaan..!
[Kawaii~Chan walks in with the Kawaii~Treat Maid~Sweet Cafe shirt on]
Aphmau: Isn't she just fabulous?!
Guy: You took the words right out of my mouth!
Aphmau: Here you go Guy, I got you a free T-Shirt for helping us so much at Love Love Paradise!
Guy: Aww, thank you so much! This color's going to make Nate just jealous.
Guy: Speaking of who, I've got to get to a movie right now with him.
Aphmau: Awh, you don't want to stay for Cat Ear Day?
Guy: Mmm, I wish I could.. But movie date is more important! See you guys later!
[Guy poofs out]
Aphmau: I'm going to learn how to do that poofing one day.
Kawaii~Chan: So, are we ready to sell the shirts? Kawaii~Chan is so excited! Look how cute she looks drawn on them!
Aphmau: The shirts are ready, they're in the shop!
Kawaii~Chan: [squeals] It's such an honor to be drawn on a shirt! Kawaii~Chan is gonna make extra sweet treats for the occasion!
[Kawaii~Chan runs off]
Aphmau: [to Zane] Aww, you see how happy she is Zane?
Zane: [chuckles] Yeah..
Zane: [clears throat] Anyway, does everyone have to wear the shirts?
Aphmau: No, only if you want to.. but we do need a male model to put the shirt on!
Zane: Hmph, well good luck trying to get me-
Damien: I'll do it!
Aphmau: Purrfect! [giggles] Here you go.
Aphmau: Wait, is this because it has Kawaii~Chan on it?
Damien: [blushing] N-No..
Aphmau: Hmmm.. alright! Here you go. Now, get back to work.
Damien: Yes ma'am!
[Damien runs off to work]
Zane: Hmph! He is so needy..
Aphmau: Pfft, you're one to talk!
Zane: What? I'm not needy.
Aphmau: [sarcastically] Mhm.. m'kay.
Zane: What's with that tone?
Aphmau: Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
[Aphmau leaves]
Zane: Wait, what does that mean?! I need to know!
[Zane chases after her]
[Aaron approaches a table]
Aaron: So sorry for the wait ma'am..! I'm Aaron and I'll be your-
Aaron: Melissa?!
Melissa: [chuckles] Well hello, brother.
Melissa: Those cat ears look ridiculous on you. Never in a million years I expected to see you do this kind of work.
Aaron: Well, we all have to start somewhere.
Melissa: Yes, but you're a grown man, Aaron..
Aaron: Ugh, let me guess. Mom and dad sent you?
Melissa: You are correct. Now, I'd like to start with a regular coffee and the um.. pink cherry cheesecake.
Aaron: Wait, you don't want to talk about why you're here?
Melissa: [laughs] Goodness no. Not right now, you're on the clock.
Aaron: [growls] Melissa!
[Aphmau comes to the table]
Aphmau: Melissa!
Melissa: Aphmau, so good to see you sweetheart!
Aphmau: What are you doing here? I thought you were always too busy to stop by..
Aaron: [under his breath] She usually is.
Melissa: Well, when Aaron told us you opened this place up, I was so proud!
Melissa: You, being a powerful female entrepreneur. That makes me so happy in more ways than one. Soon you'll be buying a big building for headquarters and.. who knows! Maybe you'll decide to franchise this place. You'll make a fine business woman one day.
Aphmau: Oh! Well I, uh.. deal with the business stuff, yes..but. But I don't think I wanna expand that far. I like having the simple cafe and stuff.
Melissa: Hmm.. I see. Well, time might change your mind. Either way I just wanted to stop by to see how things were going, and to see my little brother here, so don't mind me.
Aphmau: Oh, we won't at all. And, while you're here, your food is on me!
Melissa: Oh, I couldn't possibly-
Aphmau: Please, allow me!
Melissa: Well.. if you insist.
Aaron: I'll go get your order.. ma'am.
[Aaron leaves]
Melissa: I must say, those cat ears look adorable on you!
Aphmau: Nya~! Thanks!
Aaron: [muttering] I can't believe she's here..! Why is she here right now?!
[Garroth enters the room]
Garroth: Hey Aaron, I couldn't help notice.. isn't that Melissa? What is she doing here? I thought our family companies wereworking on that project together..
Aaron: Ugh, I had a long conversation with her and my parents yesterday. I don't want to get into it, but it seems like they decided to send Melissa after me.
Garroth: Yeesh, sorry to hear that man.
Aaron: It's okay, she's probably gonna stay here until after closing time, and the worst part is I'm gonna have to deal with her giving me the evil eye while as I work.
Garroth: It's about the "project" isn't it?
Aaron: Yeah.
Garroth: See? This kind of pressure is why Vylad likes to travel and not carry a cell phone. He just comes and goes as he pleases! ..Lucky guy.
Aaron: [sighs] I just have to get through today and.. hope for a better tomorrow.
Garroth: That's the spirit!
[Damien comes to serve another table]
Damien: Good evening sir, how may I- [horrified gasp]
Ivan: Damien? Hey, buddy, long time no see!
Damien: Ivan..! Hey.. it's. uh, good to.. see you.. what are you doing here?
Ivan: I was just checking out this place for no reason in particular. Say, it's been a long time.
Damien: It has.. but uh.. yeah, so how- how may I take your order?
Ivan: Oh come on, don't be so formal. We used to be friends, right?
Damien: Uh, no.. not really. You didn't really.. like me all that much.
Ivan: Good, glad to hear! [chuckles] Now.. "friend". I'd like to start with coffee. Black.
Aaron: Here you go Melissa, one coffee and one pink cherry cheesecake.
Melissa: Perfect.
[Melissa starts to eat her cheesecake]
Melissa: Oh my god...This cheesecake is delish! Who cooked this?!
Aphmau: Actually.. that was made by me!
Aaron: Aph, no!
Aphmau: What? It was.
Melissa: You must give me the recipe for it!
Aphmau: Sure! I've made that a lot since I was little. It's one of the recipes I know by heart, so I'm really good at cooking it.
Melissa: Tell me.. is all the food in this cafe made by you?
Aphmau: Uh.. no! Not all of it is. ..It's a collaborative effort. Everyone makes what they're good at making usually, but we all know how to cook.
Aphmau: Kawaii~Chan makes more sweets than anyone. Laurence, Gene, and Aaron cook a lot of the main dishes, and I help out where I can! Usually on sweets, because I'm too good at cooking main dishes. [giggles]
Aaron: [groans]
Melissa: Well, I'm going to have to have a talk with you and all your cooks at the end of the work day. I have a business proposition.
Aphmau: Huh, really?!
Melissa: Really.
Aaron: Don't you dare.
Aphmau: Awesome! Come on Aaron, lets get back to work!
[Aphmau runs off]
Aaron: If you do what I think you're going to do..
Melissa: You'll see..
Melissa: So. I've called you all here because as you may or may not know, Aaron and my family deal in the entertainment business.
Zane: I know, our family does too. What of it?
Melissa: [clears throat] Well, recently my parents have put me charge of production for a TV cooking show competition called.. The Diamond Chef.
Kawaii~Chan: [squeals] Kawaii~Chan loves that show!
Laurance: Woah.. that's awesome.
Melissa: I know! To top it off, it's actually a collaborative effort with the Ro'Meave corporation. And we've been having a real hard time trying to find contestants.
Zane: Really. There are star chefs all over the world who would love to compete.
Melissa: Yes, but.. this isn't for top, well-known chefs. I thought this time around I'd spice it up by asking normal people who have great skills in cooking locally. So I wanted to ask all of you if any of you be interested in participating in it?
Melissa: Since our future CEO [coughs] Aaron [coughs] hasn't been helping us with any recruitment, we desperately need people. Anyone.
Melissa: So let me ask you.. do any of you want to be on The Diamond Chef? What about you Aaron? Aren't you an amazing cook?
Aaron: No, I would never-
Kawaii~Chan: Ooooh! Kawaii~Chan wants to as well!
Laurance: Sign me up, I'm down.
Gene: Well if you can't beat 'em.. enter a contest and do it. I'm in.
Aaron: You guys can not be serious! Do you know how rough contest like that are? They're very stressful, and-
Melissa: Well Aaron, I feel the people have spoken. Looks like you unknowingly did your job after all.
Aaron: [growls] Fine. I'll enter as well.
Aphmau: Ah! Me too..!
Garroth: What?!
Aphmau: I have a ton of new recipes I want to try out, and this is perfect for honing my skills!
Melissa: Wonderful! Now everyone can enter this contest!
Zane: So tell me, when exactly does it start?
Melissa: Oh. Two days from now.
Laurance: What? That's too soon, I have to start practicing.
Zane: So, let me get this straight.. This is because you couldn't find people in time, isn't it? You can't expect this program to be good quality-
Melissa: Too late! Now get your cooking utensils prepped, because we're about to have a major televised cooking contest! Woohoo!
Aphmau: [giggles] This is going to be so much fun!
