Zane~Chan is an established ship that was hinted at in MyStreet season 2, but didn't get picked up to full stride until season 5.
This is a ship that gained a bit of popularity after season 2 of MyStreet. Zane and Kawaii~Chan have an incident in which Zane’s swim trunks slip off after being pushed down a slide by KC, who soon follows. Throughout the season it is implied that Kawaii~Chan may have a crush on Zane. Since then it has been a fan-favorite and even to this day is still one of the ‘Big 3’.
In the minigame “Never Have I Ever: Snuggle Buddies”, Kawaii~Chan's crush on Zane was verbally mentioned for the first time, though still not in canon until season 5.
Phoenix Drop High & FC University[]
Zane lies to Aphmau, saying he has a crush on a meif'wa girl, and Aphmau quickly asks if it's Kawaii-Chan. Though not much is mentioned concerning the two after,
In Falcon Claw University, KC and Zane both get jobs at the campus café. The episode in which we observe their workday together more clearly hints at their relationship. Zane also later stands up for her against a rude customer. Though he still is consistently rude to her, as shown when he called her an idiot and told her to shut up while in the circle with Jenny.
Season 1[]
Not much happens in Season One, as the two rarely interact with each other. In the very last episode, a picture that is shown in the final credit screen shows Zane with his hand over Kawaii-Chan's eyes, blocking her from seeing Aaron and Aphmau kiss. When Aphmau attempts to have Zane make some new friends, KC ignores him and has no interest in becoming his friend.
Season 2[]
In S2 E12 “Aphmau In Trouble”, KC is seen chasing Zane around trying to get him involved in activities at the resort. Later while swimming in the lazy river, a child grabs Kawaii-Chan's tail and she ends up falling into Zane's arms. Both are seen blushing after the incident. In the episode labeled "Zane's Pants," Kawaii-Chan is the one who encourages him (and eventually pushes him) down the slide, which results in his pants falling off. It is also seen in Season 2 that Kawaii-Chan attempts to force-feed Zane pudding while they are sat at the same table, eating.
In S2 E17 "Girls Night Out", Kawaii~Chan says she's been distracted with "so many other things," as a response to being asked why she hasn’t noticed Travlyn interacting, to which Aphmau responds, "Or maybe... someone?" implying KC's possible crush on Zane. She gets flustered and runs off.
Later, in episode 23, Kawaii~Chan is seen making cookies in the kitchen for lunch. Zane suggests she should make something healthier. When she said they were "healthy for her soul," Zane admitted that he liked sweets too, to which KC cuts him off, surprised he liked sweets. He said his favorite is cupcakes, and she excitedly responds that they should talk about types of cupcakes. Zane asks if she really wanted to, to which she happily says yes. They proceeded to talk about it over lunch preparations.
Season 3[]
In S3 E5 "GREAT TEACHER ZANE ", Kawaii~Chan asks for Zane's help to be serious after getting fired from the maid café. At first, he refuses and makes mean jokes, but after she takes him to Aphmau, he agrees under the condition that she actually takes his advice. Kawaii~Chan agreed, and the lesson began. At the end of the episode, after she reverts back to her silly self, Aphmau says that KC's a great person, and he should get to know her more, to which Zane replied "We'll see."
In S3 E10, Zane is doing the dishes and stops when he hears Kawaii~Chan's voice. He looks over and sees her in a maid outfit. He blushes deeply and barely manages an "Uh... yes? Miss Chan?" indicating that he thinks she looks good, and a possible crush.
In S3 E12, when she and Damien are talking about going to get tea, Zane brings over some tea. KC assumed Damien was simply talking about hanging out, and Damien almost corrected her. She then asked if he wasn't fond of tea, to which Damien made a bad pun. Zane cringed but growled under his breath once she started laughing. Damien introduces himself, and Zane does so as well, in a much more G way. This indicates some possible jealousy chill towards Damien.
In S3 E17 “Cat Ear Day!", Aphmau brings out Kawaii~Chan to model the new shirts for the cafe, and Zane could be seen blushing while staring at her. Aphmau asks Zane if he saw how happy KC was about the shirts. Zane almost replied "Yeah," with a light chuckle. Then, when Damien volunteers to model the shirt (which had KC on), Zane is once again hostile chill towards him, calling him needy.
In the next episode, S3 E18 "Cooking Competition! ", Zane and Kawaii~Chan get paired up. Zane groans while Kawaii~Chan is happy. When asked what they think about each other, Zane says he finds her annoying and that she can be kind of a klutz sometimes. Kawaii~Chan says that Zane is cool, but that he used to be really mean to everyone, so she hopes that changed. When making the cake, Zane is annoyed at first, but once she suggests that they should make a chocolate cake with Aphmau's name on it as a way to make Aphmau forgive him, he lightens up and stops complaining. Later, when asked how the cooking went, he said that he thought it was going to be worse, but he and KC actually have a bit in common when it comes to decorating cakes. He also said that he's starting to think that she's way more interesting than she seems, though still annoying.
In S3 E22, when KC is talking with Damien right before their date, Zane once again displays hostility towards him, calling him a loser because he can't even be calm with KC around.
In S3 E25, Zane is talking to KC about the maid café. He thanks her for being in charge of the café, and says that she'd make a great manager one day.
Season 5[]
In Aphmau's year, Zane tells Kawaii~Chan about what happened to Aaron and he visibly trusts her. Kim's ghost can also sense their chemistry and gets jealous. You can see them become closer within each episode.
In the first episode of Starlight, Zane sneaks Kawaii-Chan into the island in a massive pink suitcase and brings her food because Kawaii~Chan wanted to see Aarmau happen. Zane says that she asked in a rude way, but he was going to bring her anyway. Kawaii~Chan blushes A LOT.
Kawaii~Chan also trusts Zane well enough to confide in him and tell him about her backstory. Later at the Tropical Jungle Café, Kawaii~Chan then revealed her true name, Nana, showing more signs of trust as they spy on Aphmau, Aaron, Katelyn, and Travis.
After realizing that Ghost wants Zane and wants to be shipped with him when Kawaii~Chan and Zane went to the haunted house along with Garroth and Kim/Ghost, Kawaii~Chan took Zane to another room and confessed her feelings, and the two kiss, thus the ship has sailed.
In episode 16 of Starlight, after the two kiss, they both become embarrassed and apologize to one another frantically until they are scared out of the haunted house. Both call Aphmau and ask her for advice on the situation, with Kawaii~Chan fearing she moved too quickly in the relationship and Zane worrying if he deserves a girl like her. Aphmau tells them both to work it out on their own and see if they are compatible to be in a relationship. The episode ends with Zane asking Kawaii~Chan on a date, which she says yes too. In the next episode of Starlight, they are seen sitting together debating where to go on their date. Garroth then interrupts the conversation and suggests going to the adventure park at night. Near the end of the episode, they are seen on the date, both blushing as they entered the gates.
Episode 18 of Starlight shows advancements of the Zane~Chan relationship. The pair go on a date where they both find themselves extremely nervous. After some help with his mommy, Zane builds up the courage to talk to Kawaii~Chan and the date is smooth sailing from there. By the end of the night, Kawaii~Chan trusts Zane enough to allow him to call her by her real name, "Nana."
Soon after their first date, Zane and Kawaii~Chan discover that Zane's mother is in on the ship. His mother, being the caring, loving woman that she is, immediately takes a liking to Kawaii~Chan and gives her a big hug. Zane of course is embarrassed and deals with the situation the same way he deals with all of his problems, by running away and jumping into the water.
In Zane Betrayed, Zane tells Kawaii~Chan the truth, that they are going too fast in their relationship. Kawaii~Chan accepts it and Travis finds her at the punch bowl crying. He tells her she should write an anonymous romantic note, so she can talk to Zane. She does that and places the note on the table, where they had reserved (by writing their names on it). Zane sees the note on the ground and immediately recognizes Nana's handwriting . When he gets there he sees Kawaii~Chan kissing Garroth (who had seen the note moments earlier guessing that a girl left it for HIM, Zane sees it and begins to cry and runs off. Kawaii~Chan tells Garroth she thought that he was Zane and runs after her boyfriend. She tells Zane it was an accident and he understands and believes her, because Garroth can be a boob (in Zane's opinion). He tells her it wouldn't have happens if she respected Zane's feelings and didn't rush things. And he also wants to know the real her, Nana. In this episode, Zane also says that he enjoys making out with her. They end the episode holding hands.
Season 6[]
In When Angels Fall, the ship stops for a bit when they got separated. Then, when Kawaii~Chan saves Zane, there's a shot of the ship.
In episode 13, when a possessed Katelyn was charging at kawaii~Chan. Zane jumped in front of her
In episode 14, when a possessed Garroth approaches, Zane fights him off to protect an injured Kawaii~Chan and makes sure that all of Garroth's focus is on himself.
In episode 15 part 1, when they were trying to find out who will become a relic, Kawaii~Chan volunteers to become one but Zane says it is too dangerous for that to happen so she does not, clearly displaying Zane's protectiveness over her.
In episode 15 part 3, Kawaii~Chan spills her drink on herself and Zane helps to clean her up by using a towel to wipe her shirt. Both of them blush and Zane says, "Uh- I'm sorry, four*," (*He calls her "four" due to his soul being used as a relic) and Kawaii~Chan responds with, "It's alright," with a small smile on her face. He calls her 'four' since her name is Nana which has four letters.
